Default Machine Gun emplacement stutter problem

I always get the game to stutter after jumping on and off fixed MG and flak emplacements, usually by the 3rd or 4th hop. This has happened on every version to date, and on multiple systems (XP/2k) with varying CPU speeds, video and sound cards.

My current system which experiences this is:

AMD 2700+
A7N8X mobo
1gig ram
60gb HD
MSWin2k with all SPs and updates & DX9
Saphire 9500 w/latest ATI drivers
Audigy 2 w/Beta drivers from Tom's Hardware
Double bandwidth cable connection (3500/386 d/u)
