plane damage?

since this is the best place to ask qeustions... do you guys know if the planes are going to have individual damage models; ie hit the engine and it does more damage, hit the wing and it does less? or something like that... also-- if you can shoot a pilot out of a plane without actually shooting the plane down (do you know if you can?), then imagine flying a stuka right in front of a b17, and have the tail gunner jump out on the nose and stick his SMG right up to the glass and blow the pilot out... that would be awesome.

If Im not mistaken...if your wing gets messed up you go into a spin and crash...if your engine is hit you catch on fire....but I think no matter were you shoot a plane...it will still go down with the same amount of hits...depending on the gun of course

Indeed you are right... jumping on other planes and kill the pilot really IS cool..
I know that shotting a gunner ontop of a tank is possible... so.. why not?

well, the tank is sorta like that

for instance, shooting a tank in the rear with a bazooka would do more damage then the front because its a weak spot

i imagine if they are going to do that for tanks, they'll probably do something similar with the planes

Know what i'm REALLY hoping to see? Ok here's a short example.

I want to be able to see/be apart of a b-17 on a bombing run, it comes under fire by a meschersmitts, the mescher takes heavy fire, spirals down towards the b-17, the pilot knows he dead meat, so he crashes into tail section of the b-17 on his way out. The b-17 tail shreds apart in half, and a "killed on impact" bomber/tailer gunner's limp body falls out the back hole like a rag doll CARNAGE YEAH!!!!!!!

Seen Memphis Bell? That's a movie about b-17's crews, that scene is from the end bombing run, awesome.

I think they are trying to keep a trace of realism in this game. If that did happen though, I would have a laughing fit so great, it would kill me.

Hehehehe, well, what orangetheripper wrote might actually be possible later. It would be hard to hit the pilot of the other plane, but jumping out and staying on a wing shouldnt be a problem...
