Default Newbie Questions About Controls

I've been procrastinating for a long time but I've finally gone out and baught BF and I just finished installing it.

Anyway, I have some questions about controls. I've never really fully grasped controlling FPS games with the mouse/keyboard, and I want to begin using a dual analog pad with thses games. I also want to be able to use a joystick to control aircraft in the game (I've been virtual flying for about a year now with IL2 Sturmovik). Would anybody be able to give me some tips on mapping/assigning controls to thses devices (Or reasons for not doing so)? Any other ideas/tips? I have a Logitech Wingman Extreme digital stick and a Thrustmaster Firestorm Dual Power 3 dual-analog gamepad.

Thanks for any help!

in most cases.....open the Controls section...go to what you want (Land, Air, etc) click on the function you want (ie Nose Up, or Left Rudder) and apply the stick how you want it

click on "Left Rudder" and twist the grip Left

click on "Nose Down" and push the stick forward

I dont use a gamepad (the way I understand you anyway) but I do use a Thrustmaster Tactical Board.....I programmed it the same way, hit the control I want and them hit the button on the Pad I want it keyed to

Good Luck

Ok, I tried to define my stick controls, but it won't reconize it. I click it and it says to use the button or control to define it but nothing happens when I move my stick or hit the buttons. Is there any known problems with using the Logitech Wingman Extreme Digital 3D? It is a non-USB joystick.

My joystick is twitching or something now. whenever i go to assign fire controls, it assign my joystick axis to it. I think i better get a new joystick.

My digital gamepad does that too. It's the fault of the game. Try to hold the direction or button you want before clicking the option to change it.
