Default Need Serious Help

My specs:

Windows XP Home Edition
AMD Duron Processor 1000
256 mb RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 2 video card
Cable Connection

My problem is that when I connect on line I play for a few minites and get an error message "Warning Server connection problem detected" then after a few seconds I get sent back to the game menu with a "Disconnected from server" message. It happens everytime I play usually every 10 to 15 minites without fail. Now that I have uninstalled and re-installed with the new 1.4 patch it still happens and now whenever I drive a vehicle I get severe lag! And I mean SEVERE LAG! Any help is greatly appreciated. i had the same problem but i fixed it by closing all the programs i could (the ones in the lower right corner of desktop, right click them and close if u can). Also try disconnecting from any type of download/upload program (like kazza). If this doesn't help I cant help you much.

Well I took your advice and tested it and the results show no packet loss. I have no idea what else to do. Semper Fi

i have 56k and i can agree this is annoying - it used to happen to me all the time - but now i re-sign on til i see (connected at 49000 bps) has to be at least 49 for me to play - but since ur on cable i suggest u just reformat your computer (if your computer came with xp and you've never formatted then u deserve to have the xp cd - just download it from an ftp or something) after u format it should all be fine
