I have BF1942 with Road to Rome. Downloaded and installed 1.4 patch. When I click Multiplayer- >Internet the game freezes. Totally and irrevocably.
bf1942.exe has all permissions in the firewall. Also tried without firewall, no hope. All original game, never played online before. My computer is P4 2 ghz, ati radeon 9000 newest drivers, directx9, windows xp pro sp1. Everything works fine except this. |

Did you try rebooting? I had the same issue, a reboot cleared it up.
If that doesn't work, delete ALL your game profiles and create a new one. I believe it was patch 1.2 that had an issue like this and removing and recreating game profiles fixed it, so maybe it will work this time.

Rebooted n times, deleted old profiles, nothing helps, still freezes. Made clean install with bf1942 + rtr + 1.4 patch, everything is the same. Took extra care to delete directories and clean registry manually.
I do not have any antivirus or other junk in the background. The game just freezes after clicking 'Internet'. Either with firewall which has all permissions set for bf1942.exe or without said firewall. No NAT or router. Always on cable with no port filtering or other restrictions. |
