Hi, im trying to setup a LAN server and i would like to get as much information about it as possible before starting it, if anyone has any ideas or configs you would recommend or anything at all that can help please post here or contact me direct in irc on quaknet in channel #thefragfactory. Should be ok i would think. My own setup:
Comp1: AthlonXP1700, 768pc2100 ddr geforce2 pro ,Netgear fa311 100mpbs. comp2: Athlon XP1600 ,512 pc133 ddr geforce3ti200,Netgear fa311 100mbps Comp3: Cant run BF1942. Nuff said lol All using Netgear rt314 gateway router on a cable 512 down 128 up modem. Ive hosted sessions where my lan mate had to join using the "connect to ip" option while all other players from the internet joned through the normal procedure. Works fine for me with no visible lag, YET! |
