EA told Dice to remove it so they could mark it with ESRB (or is it ESBR? ya some combination of those letters) rating (what don't you do for money?).

i THINK thats a good option in the profitable view! they have a larger target of buyers that way, and we all know that who ever wants blood is gonna get it from a mod , exactly like in mohaa
, and its better to cause you´l be able to choose which one you want

BF1942, like MOH:AA, is published by EA. I beleive I read the MOH:AA team decided to take blood and gore out of their game out of respect to veterans. Therefore, it is likely the standard full game of BF42 will not come with blood. But this does not stop you from getting a blood patch. I have as much respect for veterans as the next guy, but I think blood serves a legitimate purpose for gameplay because it lets you know for sure that you hit someone. The blood patch for the BF42 SP demo (I forget the author but it was the only one of it's kind on the site I got it from) was very well done with a realistic cloud of dark red mist. There is no blood stain on the ground or anything, but as I said, the cloud is what I really want for me to know that sniper bullet actually connected. I tried a few blood patches for MoH:AA, but all of them looked pretty awful (one had almost pink blood and then drew a 10 foot wide puddle where the enemy fell) so I gave up on them. (I only really played MoH single player anyway). As far as BF42 goes, I'm happy that as early as the SP demo someone has already made a very nice blood patch. Either the same blood file will work with the Full game unchanged, or another version will be released.

I don't understand the fascination with gore. I think a well done blood "hitpuff" type patch is good if not for anything other then helping you see your hits. When people want these mods with blood spurting out and covering the walls it has to make you think. I agree that crap should be left out due to respect for the guys who really did spurt blood all over. As well, what does it add to the gameplay other then a macabre feature for strange people?

Like what creeper said, it's a great easy way to know you hit a guy. I also use blood patches for this purpose to and yeah, there's always those sick demented people out there :P

BTW creeper, here's a nice blood mod
http://www.modtheater.com/pafiledb.p...on=file&id=105
The mod also has little pools of blood to also let you know that a little fight has been there

I sort of understand the blood for a shot argument but am I the only one who notices the guy you shoot stumbling, its kind of obvious that you've hit them.

I've tried hitting all different parts of the body and they still stumble in some way even if they are prone or crouched.

I'm may be completely off but I remember reading somewhere blood also was not added to MOHaa because the heavy clothes worn often kept the blood inside the clothes...meaning no blood..., still doesnt explain the head shots, or being blown up, etc...they might have simply said that cause they couldnt made the blood look good, or for the rating..., I dont know, just something I read, felt like postin it

No blood is bullshit. That statement that EA made about Soldiers wearing all those clothes goes on my list of biggest bullshit statements I have ever heard. Hello?? If someone gets shot with a frikkin 30 caliber M1 round that is devastating, there will be a hole where blood will seep. Not that I am one of those gore loving freaks. I just think war should be portrayed as it is: a violent, bloody, terrible, nightmare that no one should want to take part in. And as far as a tribute to veterans, what the hell?? How the hell is removing the realistic result of a gunshot paying respect? It's almost like injecting a fun factor into war by removing blood. Nah, people don't almost drown in their blood when they get shot, they simply fall down and pass away. Did Spielberg remove blood from his war movie?? Yes, I know that EA just cares about the green, but they could include a realism option for older gamers....

mmmmm.....blood and gore......mmmmmm, well, the onyl reason EA does not ship with blood is so that they can get in on all the shelves of wal-wart. Profit is their number one, i mean, they moght have said some BS that it is respecting veterans, but they would rather have a profit, plus they "need" a "good" excuse. o well, some blood mods are better than the game blood file.. thingy...

ColKilgore, i agree 100% with you, taking out blood is gloryfing war, making it seem less disturbing, i think if i was a war veteran i would want the youth to know what war was like. it was not fun it was horrible (understatement) and taking blood out of it would offend and annoy me if i was a veteran. And in fact i would be annoyed that it was made into a GAME! that is sick enough without making it a clean bloodless game. i would hate it if my past fear, misery and life threatening experiance was being re-lived and enjoyed by the youth, obviously it is only a game but i think making war into a game is a sick sick idea! (i still play them cos it is fun) but i would understand if people would be offendid by my enjoyment in war games.

SOF2 is such a good game! it is bloody and realistic, sure that makes it an "18" but it makes it seem so real, and i am sorry but i think it is entertaining to see a terrorist rolling around on the floor looking for his face/leg/arm etc. i enjoy watching the blood squirt from the fresh bullet hole (keeping in mind that it is only a game). so if battlefield has no blood then that is fine with me, i will get a mod, but if it does have blood that is even better!

To be honest...I love the blood in gaming...Dont forget people this is a GAME..Its for fun..I tottaly respect the vets and this great country that they gave to our generation but to take the blood completely out of the game, is taking away from the realism and fun...Note:I like when gaming companys give you the option to turn it up or down..Oh yeah i am not a freak that like to drink blood or anything...ahaha
just an opinon

you know what else they could have done... (if anyone has played hitman ) how the dead guys can randowly fall down and can be propped up against the wall and such, it is kinda hard to explain, it wll be a recourse hog but hey, i dont really care, the game is still awesome!

Lol, that's so cool indeed.

I finally hid a body in the toilet of the local restaurant, close the door and I see a leg slipping through under the door. so cool, lol

I opened the door to drag him in all the way, and then some waiter comes into the toilet. mission failed.

I love hitman!
