Default cantevenrungame

i just got it it is all installed fine, the EAsy test thing says it is all compatible. BUT it does not work i get it to run and up comes the bf 1942 title screen then that box goes and screen goes black (i guess just before intro starts) then it crashes to desktop and a error screen tries to load i get a ding and it all stops with the error screen gone

try to add -nointro in command line of exec. and look if it works

and on the shortcut for BF1942 add +restart 1 to stop the opening movies

this is how mine looks
"EBattlefield 1942\BF1942.exe" +restart 1

gf4 mx420 64mb
256ram
windows xp

which is good enough-in theory


yea so it start to run then goes black (if i get that far) then dings and a error message tries to appear then dissapears in less than 1s

Default same dang thing

Yea I've had bf for a couple months and it never gave me any crap until today when I downloaded v1.4. I click on the desktop icon for BF or RTR, it goes to the bf 1942 title screen, then all of a sudden I hear a beep and I'm back at the desktop...this happens over and over and nothing seems to work....thx for any help...specs below

specs: pentium 4 2.53 GHz
512 MB RDRAM
128 MB Radeon 9700
Windows XP
Adelphia broadband connection

exactly same problem as me cept i dont have 1.4 but 1.31

Updgrade your DirectX version to 9.0 and see if that works. You might also want to update your video drivers while you're at it if you haven't recently.

Had the problem a time ago, make sure your display refresh rate is at 60Hz, all other modes dont work for me (it starts the way you said)

my monitor only runs at 60hz ice got dx9 i got patch from here tried with and without

ive tried to get new drivers but the nvidia site was down ill prolly try again later

i was thinking though that the problem may be dx9 cus from what ive heard it causes more problems than it solves
