I've noticed that most ppl that have this problem have the VIA chipset and most likely have the lastest driver for it. Which in most cases causes these crashes not just for battlefield but for nearly every EA game out there. The solution I highly recommend is using Version 4.38 of the 4-1 VIA driver which you can download at http://viaarena.com . There is a very good chance that this will work if your a VIA user. However, I do recommend trying the refresh fix first.
Cheers. |

Please be advised that 4.38 is only reccommended for winxp/2000 4.35 was the last win98/me driver.
and the only reason you noticed that "most peaople who have this problem have a via chipset" is because most people have a via chipset. this is not a chipset issue, otherwise the forums at www.nforcershq.com wouldnt be jam packed with the same issue. if you do use a via kt333/400/400a chipset and winxp/2k you should have at LEAST via hyperion 4.43 drivers installed. regardless of chipset version, dont put any hyperions on a win98/me machine. |
