He means a small text box off to the side of the front page that listed the latest 5 forum topics/replies.

It was kinda cool...you could (at a glance) see what was new in the forums without having to open it up.

We removed it for a few reasons, I'll speak with hahn and perhaps we can enable it again for all forum users.
