I've noticed that with the old BFnation Forum engine...if noone replied to your post...you could edit that post and the engine would not set any time limit as to showing "last edited by xxxxxxx."
With the new forum engine...it appears you get about 1 minute to edit your post (that has not been replied to) before the this new forum engine states that you edited your post Can this feature be adjusted for time by any of the major admins here? I would think it can be..or is no such feature possible? If noone has replied to my post...I like to tidy up spelling or correct facts. The old forum engine...you could. The new one gives you about a minute to or it shows "post last edited by xxxxxxx." Can the time to edit for unreplied to post be lengthened to at least 10 minutes...or even opened to editing untill someone replies? LOL..I missed the one minute mark editing my post. Can't that be adjusted with this forum engine??? Not a huge deal...I'm more curious what options a forum engine has. Last edited by Caslon : 08-20-2006 at 06:01 AM. |

I think it's time, rather than reply-based (i.e. you have X mins, not just until someone replies). I agree though, I liked the way the old one didn't "punish" you as long as you caught it before people replied. I'll look into it.

Thanks if you can change things a little bit.
Also mrhahn...I just posted to BF2 "Newness to Commander Mode" topic. I tried to edit my original topic heading to "Commander Mode..." (I am not new to commander mode)...and tried editing it. After my editing...the subject topic should now be seen here as Commander Mode...not my "Newness as Commander..." original topic title. This forum engine is not updating edited poster made changes of topic title. I make an edit to my original post topic description...and this forum engine dismisses my change and keeps the original. |

Is there a button called "Thread Tools" that you can see (I'm not sure if it's a mod/admin thing only). In that you can edit the thread's title. What you edited was your post (for some reason vB creates a thread with the title you entered, then inserts a post into it).

Thread Tools only adds polls, subscribes, e-mails, and prints the thread. The way to edit the title is to hit the Edit button, then click "Go Advanced" and then you can edit the title and save it.
