OK, isn't there an automatic feature that doesn't let you save it? I know I added some text about our server and would not let it save it because of its size. So I cut it down and recently added a small ribbon at the bottom. Today I get this from Grimm:

"Your sig is over the limit. Please resize or remove it. "

and he quotes:

I have been here for 3 years and I did not get any oversize indication when I amended it. Just so happens this takes place after an exchange between Grimm and I in the forums. I find it amusing that my point gets made by other people and I don't have to waste the energy myself. Thanks for the rulefuck after 3 years.

Is grim now a mod or something? I really dont think the sig rules really appaly that much anymore. Were they not implimented in the first place to reduce the amount of bandwidth people used while viewing the forums? Its pushing 2006 now, I dont think very many people have caps anymore. Ont he other hand, CJ's sig was a little big, I think it would have been better if the pics were put side-by-side instead of vericaly

Actually, the rules are still supposed to be in effect. It's to cut down on bandwidth, but most of all to make the forum look better. I must say I'm annoyed by the amount of text and nonsense people put in their sigs.

I've tried not to be too much of a hardass on it, except when people have animated gifs at 1 MB as their avatar, and sigs that are heigher than the rest of the thread... Don't see this changing in the future, so we'll try to calm down on the moderation of sigs, as long as you try to keep it somewhat tidy

I trimmed it down and posted smaller pics and also removed the =RAV= server information. The server info was a service to all looking for a good place to play. As when the BF42 Demo was out and we had one of the first servers up and running it. Also through our PoE times.

The timing was ironic though and seems to me a side agenda.

We did have a poll on whether Sig size (both Physical and data) should be changed.

The result was 3 votes for Yes, 3 votes for no. Thus, they where left as they were.

As for the timing of my PM I would like to point out something. The more you post the more people see your sig. So when you have a conversation with one person in particular there is a greater chance of that person seeing your sig.

I randomly check people's sigs to see if they are breaking the rules, if I see lots of your posts there is a higher chance of me checking it expecially as it looked very large.

If you hadn't had a sig larger than the rules you wouldn't have got that PM. Its that simple.

Though following rexxie's advice I shall be a little less "Hardass" on the enforcing of the rules.
