Default Calling in Artillery Question

I have the Demo of BF1942 SW of WW2 and when I try to call for artillery with the Scout nothing happens?? I use the Binoculars and left click and it says I called for artillery but nothing happens?? So then I tried requesting artillery, then clicked on it with the binoculars and it still did nothing??? Anyone know what to do or how to call it in right??

PS I've been playing this Demo for 3 days straight almost lol.....This game will be getting bought!

It doesn't work like RTCW, where you get artillery barrage from just calling one in.

Using artillery is a two-step process. A scout calls in artillery, which makes available a display of a view of the battlefield from the scout's perspective. Another soldier who is using an artillery piece can view the scout's display by right-clicking the mouse while they are manning the gun. At this point the artillery man (or woman) will work to line up the target and commence firing. The scout's view only last for a short period of time (15-20 sec I think). Also, if you keep calling in artillery, it keeps "overriding" the view so try to get a good picture and leave it alone for a while. Usually someone will acknowlege your request if they are actively playing an artillery piece. It takes a lot of teamwork, but it works well once you find a good partner to work with.

Good luck with your artillery efforts.

I don't recall if the demo has any artillery guns or not. The point is, if you don't have someone scouting for your artillery, it doesn't do much good. The artillery vehicles aren't very well armored so, if you try to rush into an area where there are a buch of tanks around you're toast.

Doesn't the demo have ships? Is it the Wake Island demo?
If so, they are your artillery.

I'm sorry, but I've never played the demo. I bought the game off of a friends glowing review and never bothered with the demo.
