I am still gonna buy this. I have had some of the best damn games lately playing SW. Once you get used to the new weapons/vehicles its a lot of fun.

Nice screens. I will get it to add to the variety, thats one of the things i like about this game I can play one of the mods or expasions for awhile and then when I go back to regular battlefield its so much fun again.

Hmmm... those maps DO look SMALLish... and IGN had the guts to call the Helendoorn map "... a rather large map with 7 spawn points total scattered around the map". According to them that's one of the largest maps. we're all familiar with it aren't we? can't even hold the rocket-jet plane in a straight line for more than 3 seconds before you're out of bounds. some of those maps shown there are "Kursk-ish" in their appearance, and that's one particular map that I avoid at all costs!!! Where are the maps the size of El Alamein, Gazala, Battle of Britain, Midway, Wake????? Why all these tiny "scrimmage" maps all of a sudden? Are people at DICE sick or something? .... maybe it's the summer heat that got to their willingness to put some work in on their shifts.
Still I'm not impressed with what DICE has to offer in this "expansion pack". 8 maps total, six of which are objective-based; a handful of new weapons.... all for $30US? pfffff. Sounds like snake oil sales to me. I can make my own "map pack" free out of so many good ones out on the internet provided for by the BF1942 community. I will pass on this purchase.

i'll wait and see how SW runs for you guys.
i'd love to get it, but don't want it running like the demo which feckin' FPS useless to me. hope the game itself runs better. i can spend $30 just on cigs and beer this weekend. and to be honest, i thought RtR was worth my $20 for all the good matches on Salerno and Husky alone. gawd knows i've bought a lot worse games.

um,
if sw still has the rifle grenade and not ex packs it's gonna be so unbalanced it wont be sutable for league play. Oh, i like it, but as more of a novelty mod than a real bf map pack. still no flamethrowers ![]() I like it though. i'd pay more for the one map demo than i would for rtr |

if you notice its just an object (ie a bridge) that covers a canyon. the heightmaps are still 3d. the entire file stucture has not changed. believe me I took apart the demo.

I guess that's the reason why you're a mapper and not a coder. :PTo elaborate on melee's comment, the ground where the tank is on can be thought of "sea level" and everything else is built on it.

SHAZZAM!! You're a smart guy melee. I don't think EA can get you for redistributing those models u *I need a new power supply cause my damn computer just went into standby mode* nless you put them in another game or sell your map (which they would get you for, for selling Dice code).
I'm going to need your 1337 skillz to help me too. Do I make a new folder/RFA (standardMesh_002) for my own custom models or do I add it to standardMesh?

if the models are part of a mod they go straight into the mods standardmesh. if the models are for a map you are doing, you make a standardmesh folder in the maps rfa main directory.
