Can anyone explain the destroyed bridge in Hellendoorn

Who in their right mind builds a bridge to connect two mounds of dirt?

Well it was part of history. I guess during the actual war it was destroyed to serve some strategic purpose. My guess from EA's standpoint is that they just left it in to provide a ramp for people to jump over in keeping with the flavor of the SW expansion pack.
