Default Mixed feelings about SW demo

Something new to play is about all I can say for this new demo.

The demo map design leaves a lot to be desired.
Often times, a bunch of tanks can just stay in position and
shell the nearest enemy spawn point.
Often times you'll be leaving base in a tank and get shelled from who
knows where.

The Natter if not shot down is way too powerful for other team.

The jetpack is nothing to really jump for joy about, in fact, I rarely
find any good use for it.

The winter scenery is pretty nice.

thats all you like?

I had some fun with it, small it may be, the jetpack is great, I love the fact its a class not a object. I found my own use for it, you now those allied anipbous tanks? find a loaded down one, hop in ala jetpack, and give em a taste of your mp 40! I mean the only other class with mp 40 is medic, so the question is med pack or jetpack? I go for the jetpack.

as fo rthe small map concerns I got you covered:

[quote="melee"]I am making a new map jsut for the multi player demo, I will try to code alot of Bf stuff into it which will be hard since it is not already in an archive. I will try to make an airbattle, with a large map consisting mainly of air and AA in a sort of BoB fashion.

The map will be called "Bemannt Esel" when translated reads "mas ass"

vehicles:

Allied
mustangs
b-17
expertal jet figter
radar equiped AA
motorcyle
aniphbous tank

Axis
BoB german bomber
lots of me 109s
1-2 fighters
flak tiger
motorcycle
swimwagon
turdburgalar

Jet packs are a possibilty, this can be an objective based map like BoB but I doubt I can make it work well.

I will have a layout done tonight, and hopefully map will be completed by tommorrow night.

If Anyone has any suggestions on coding please tell me, i knwo most this stuff but may come across a few problems.

because the demo map sucks ass![/quote}

Whining friggin baby.

This expansion demo rocks. the people complaining are going to be the lamers who found their set little niche in the BF1942 they are used too and don't like change.

Everything in the demo is fun and exciting. Granted the map leaves a little to be desired but I think they threw everything in this map for the demo.

This expansion demo rocks and I for one can't wait for the full expansion release. RTR wwas a shit effort from DICE compared to this.

Seeing as I have no intention of ever getting Stupid Weapons mod (expansion pack my ass), I won't bother wasting my band width to down load the demo.

I must agree with what the dude said above. Compared to normal BF or R2R, SW 2 lags like hell. I know my PC is at the lower end performance wise, but since the system specs should still be the same I´m a little dissapointed. I though DICE might have fixed the netcode by now to have a fluent gameplay.
I admit I havn´t played the demo for long, but I´m not to impressed.

Well, I uninstalled it. Secret Weapons sucks my cock and calls it candy. Ugh... I may as well reinstall AvP2 at this rate.

The first Demo was a bit rough too from what I remember.

I honestly must have played wake 300+ times. Its personally one of the best levels in the entire game.

this demo did not give the same feeling, remember how exciting it was to get in a mustang jump out, parachute, nail a jap with Bar, hop into sherman, nail advancing landing craft?

this is more like been there down that, I wish they would have added something different to the formula. then again BF formula is the bes tout there now, with all the games copying it.

Yeah, the multiplayer demo was definitely one of the best freebies of all time in terms of replay. But the first demo--the single player? That sucked major ass--the Secret Weapons demo, as buggy as it is, owns all over it. What made that first MP demo so good was that it was the first time a FPS had that much depth and let you do that much stuff. Playing an expansion pack to a game like that is never going to match the thrill of the original and you'd be silly to expect it to.

I haven't noticed the lag issue but the sound is wonky as hell--it sounds like Alvin and the Chipmunks in an echo chamber.

I like the motorcycle and the flakpanzer, the amphibious axis jeeps are cool but the jets will have to take some getting used to. The jets handle like they really can't be totally mastered--and that's prolly a good thing considering they're supposed to be in the testing stage. Same for the jet pack, it's definitely not like in Tribes but it's not without its tactical benefits and is fun to fly.

One thing that is starting to bother me is the sizes of some of these new guns--they take up half the screen. I wil say that they are handling better, tho.

About the "One Shot Kill Knife": I think it's a good idea. I like to knife people but with 1.4 it's way harder--to the point of being unrealistic. The new knife is thrown.

I suspect alot of changes will be made before release, but either way I'll still buy it. I loved the RtR maps but I felt the tanks were too weakened and the Mosquito bomber was too powerful. The maps themselves were so big and the terrain so hostile that, for the infantryman, it often worked against you. Still for $20, it was well worth it--too bad it never caught on with the players like it should've. This expansion looks to include new weapons that could either be a blessing or curse in game and also offers new classes and modes of gameplay.

It's kinda odd how much stuff from SW has already been introduced through other mods: the jet pack and thrown knife in Action Battlefield, the flakpanzer in Parallel World, the shotgun and jets in DC, etc.

BFNWalmart is being a little too harsh. After playing it for a day and learning
the routes, it's not terrible. If you play with about 13-15 per side max, it's
fun.

What sucks is an ace pilot coming into the game and using the Natter to
just wipe out tanks and troops non-stop. This one pilot just totally dominated the gameplay. THAT is what sucks.
