Default road to roam ... and roam... and roam...and roam...

there's a vote up on TWL right now to pull the RtR maps individually from the ladders and leagues. I personally voted to keep teh husky and anzio mappij
and to toss the rest in the can.

i hate those half-assed tanks in those maps (IMHO) and that
anti-air gun on the APC and some tanks is weak as hell too. if they replaced that stuff with good ol shermans etc + real AA guns, id be more into them. or even something different but not weaker than the regular 42 weapons.

I like the 'new' tanks, even though they came before the Sherman.....but anyways they add more to stragety....need to be stealthy....get good back shots!

I like the addon more then i like DC

berlin is one of my favorite maps.

I have nothing against road to rome, as a mod, but the maps are kinda weak. hopefully secret weapons will have some really nice maps.

Husky and Salerno are coo.
i used to really like the big maps like Gazala, El Alamein etc but you get tired of driving/travel time. Really like Berlin and Stalingrad again.

mayber i haven't played enough. i haven't 'mastered' the regular 42 stuff. why would i want to get owned in an inferior vehicle. i agree diff tactics, maybe be a nice change after i 'get' all the other stuff. and if anyone knows how to kill anything with rtr aa (sort of) guns. let me know. do you have to aim the other way or something? sheesh!

IMO they should ditch Baytown, Anzio and Santa Croce. I guess it's the BF110 and Mosquitos... If it weren't for the destroyer on Husky and only one possible plane I'd include it too. But I like Husky, it's a better Omaha beach scenerio excpet it's against Italians. Casinno can be alot of fun but it's a tough map for the allies. Solerno I think is probably the most balanced out of all of the RtR maps.

And why is it that these expansion packs (RtR and I would imagine Stupid Weapons) are considered mods by the game? I don't have DC or any other mods except for the expac1 or whatever it is. Why don't the expansions 'meld' with the original without being considered an mod? It sure would make life easy for the mappers and maybe even the modders. Reynolds, maybe you can answer this, can you mix and match weapons when you're making a map... ie mix weapons like the Tiger and M10 with the BF110 and Mosquito on the same map?

I like RTR because it forces more stragety and cunning....

I havent played RTR lately, but i remember the StuGs cannon being devastating against infantry, which is why it was my favorite vehicle.

Other than that, RTR didnt tide me over for very long.

y, a few of those maps are really bad. i dont know if it's just cause i play assault on most rtr maps, but i've never seen the rifle bayonet. maybe gonna have to personally try that one tonight.

One of my favorite maps is Cassino. I like running up the hill to the old blown out church while it is dark and stormy. Whenever you get to the top and go in the front door with guns blazing is fun as hell.

The only RTR map that I dont like is Anzio. Its just kind of boring to me unless there is a lot of players.

r2r maps rule. the worst is baytown but it's ok. love salerno, santa croce, anzio, husky and cassino can be good tho allies usually get smoked.
