Default SAS weapons on BF2 Karkand?

I noticed a guy with the F2000GL on Karkand the other day. How can you get SAS or other weapons from the Special Forces Mod on the regular BF2 games? Is this a feature or a hack?

UNLOCKS
- By playing on a Battlefield 2â„¢: Special Forces map, you will gain the priviledge
of being able to unlock some of the Battlefield 2â„¢: Special Forces weapons for use
in regular BF2 maps. These unlocks are considered to be tier 2 unlocks, where as
the original unlocks are considered to be tier 1. You must first have unlocked
the tier 1 weapon for a particular kit before you can access and unlock the tier 2
weapon. As an example, if you must unlock the G3A3 for the assault kit before you
can unlock the F2000 for the assault kit.

According to my current rank, I only have one unlock left when I rank up to Sergent-Major. Does this mean I can unlock the last teir 1 or one teir 2 unlock only?

BTW the F2000/GL is not an unlock on Special forces. That's the standard assault package.

What the tiers mean is you must unlock the classes first, orignal unlock first, then you will be able to unlcok the SF unlock for that weapon. For example: You must first unlock the G3, once the G3 is unlocked you will be able to unlock the F2000GL.

There arn't unlocks for every class though.

As for the F2000 in SF, yes it is standard on a few maps but not for every team. The US might have the F2000 while the MEC are stuck with the standard AK/GP-30.

OK, I see, I had to log out and log back in, then EA gave me 5 new unlocks.

If I would have known that I got all these new weapons for regular BF2 as well, I would have considered buying it sooner. This is awesome!

Hardly awsome. You giving EA £15 gives you an advantage over players who dont like being conned.

Not impressed at all with this feature, at least it gives the possibilty for a modder to unlock them in SP though. The weapon files will be in the new patch.

These weapons aren't any better then the regular unlocks, they are just different and kind of cool to use.

It's awesome because the game was getting stale and needed new maps and such. Not to mention a really intelligent business decision on EA's part. Why send out new maps and features when you can sell them? I don't like it but its smart and if I have to pop down a few bucks now and then to keep it fresh, I will. Hell I got way more then my $50 bucks worth out of Halflife or DOD or CS and I'd say I've just about got my money's worth from BF2 also.

I see no advantage other then a psychological one.

With 1942 they were giving away free maps and weapons with the patches.

Now we just got a remade wake.

Make some new maps for us and some new weapons, crucially, give them away free.

Also I havn't updated my game to 1.2 yet, and dont intend to for as long as possible. Looking on other forums alot of other people are pissed at Flashbangs and stuff being in regular BF2. I don't want to be disadvantaged just because I dont give EA my money for some shitty expansion.

Agreed on the flashbangs. They suck and last way too long.

I haven't had a chance to play vBF2 yet, can tear gas be used? Can sf owners have the advantage of gas masks too?

That'd be cool, if we could don gasmasks and teargas you non-sf owners on the regular maps
