Default [Battlefield 2142] BF2142 Gone (Fools) Gold!?

Front-page version: BF2142 Gone (Fools) Gold!?

Electronic Arts/Battlefield2142.com have released an update letting everyone know that BF2142 has gone "gold".

EA and DICE are pleased to announce that Battlefield 2142 has gone gold. Meaning that after months of internal testing and
balancing, the game has been handed over to the quality assurance team for final testing. Congratulations to everyone involved,
and a big thank you to everyone involved in the Beta testing.

While the game is still subject to final quality assurance testing, the game is a step closer to its release date of October 18th, 2006.

In the next 24/48 hours BFNation's very own (P)review will be online. Be sure to check back this weekend for in-depth analysis and exclusive screenshots!

That's kinda wierd. All the times I've known a game to have gone gone "gold" is when the master copy of the game has already passed final assurance tests and is on it's way to the duplicators.

Yeah, it is a little odd.

Maybe that means there will be a patch, ready to download on release day.

Whatever, I don't see myself getting BF 2042.

That's odd. Gold means done and is off the publishers. If they are duplicating now while still doing final quality insurance that is terrible.

A lot of people will be pissed on launch day if there's a patch.

Any word on the preview/review. I am interested to see what our guys think of the "final" product. Who's previewing btw?
