Default [DICE] DICE reveals new title - Battlefield: Bad Company

Front-page version: DICE reveals new title - Battlefield: Bad Company

Digital Illusions, the developers of the Battlefield franchise has just revealed the title of their new upcoming game, named Battlefield: Bad Company.

Bad Company is a Xbox360 and Playstation 3 game, but the press release seems to incline a PC and PSP version being on the way. The game will use the DICE-developed Frostbite engine. The game is scheduled for release in 2007.

The game will also feature an adventurous, cinematic singleplayer part loaded with dark humour which have never before been featured in any Battlefield game. Also, the swedish press release has a quote from Senior Producer Karl Magnus Troedsson which seems to imply destructible terrains finally making an appearance in a Battlefield game: "In a gaming world that's 90% destructible, the posibilities are endless. The battlefield is constantly changed, forcing players to change their strategies" (excuse me for any errors here, my Swedish is a bit rusty these days).

The press release can be found here.

More news as we get them!

There is humour in BF2! what with all the glitches and deaths that defy all laws of physics.

It mean there wasn't any humor in the past Battlefield games.

I'm still waiting for that fully destructable terrain...

Like randomly exploding planes, trees that "grab" your helicoptor rotors, and of course the dreaded "stairs of doom" where one quick step means instant death. Where would we be without these new and exciting experiences...

BOT, I'm still confused what kind of game this is supposed to be. At first glance it looks like a MOH/COD-type experience. Hopefullly the bots will be a little more intelligent this time around.
