Howdy all (been at least 2 years since I've posted here)

I was excited to find that FH2 was released. I've downloaded, installed and even played a little bit of it. I'm having a hard time finding any servers in NA that actually have people playing on it so it's difficult to form an informed opinion of FH2. The most I've found is like 8 people on a server.

The sounds are great as are the models and skins. The maps leave a little to be desired imo.

I'm not familiar enough with this mod yet to be able to quote map names but my initial impression is that the maps are a great size for 64 players (if you can get a full server) but are too huge for anything less than that. The maps aren't scalable for the number of players the way vanilla BF2 is. Some areas on one map are just a place to get lost in (courtyards with walls/fences with only one way in or out) and could use some holes in the walls to allow access/escape from these areas. I guess you'd learn eventually to avoid these areas unless you saw an enemy heading into one of them.

I was disappointed that after years of development the developers have only done north africa. To be honest, african terrain is boring. Some of the villages have plenty of buildings but I haven't run across a building you can enter to evade enemies or avoid detection (tents don't count as buildings in my books).

With the mod coming out this long after BF2, I think for the most part, the developers have missed the BF2 popularity window. I've been having to tell my friends to re-install BF2 and get this mod seeing as most had grown bored with BF2 and moved onto other games.

I haven't given up on this mod and would like to play more of it, but unless I can find a server that is at least half full, I won't be spending too much time at it.
