I personally hated berlin...I realize that is not an unpopular map, but it's a primarily infantry map, which BF1942 was pretty much fucking shitty with. I have always said (about BF1942) that the game would've been PERFECT if it had the same infantry dynamic as DoD or CoD or anything that was focused on a good FPS experience. There times, playing BF (all of them in fact) that is was almost glaringly obvious that they had added in the FPS aspect of it as an afterthought. I don't think the franchise would lose that much of it's audience if you just chose a vehicle to spawn as and drove/flew/swam around till it was destroyed. To hell with the lousy collision on foot.
One good thing about Berlin, it was the best map to try the superman bug with.
