It's the way of the gaming world now. Deal with it.
Wallstreet projections of what EA profits will be...EA paying huge sums to game developers to meet release deadlines set 14 months earlier. Stockholders collectively investing huge sums with EA who in turn paid DICE big bucks(and other EA gamemakers) to meet those future projected profit quotas.
It's no longer a gamemaker getting a game out when it's ready....it's about game developer being paid a lot to produce a future follow up hit (20 months earlier when the contracts were signed). It's called a due date and it figures into all who invest in EA stock (who pays DICE to develop an upcoming game).
Collectively, PC games are now almost as big a business as building oil supertankers. Only...supertankers get taken out on a test sea trial run and need to pass established certification...games don't.
