I also wanted to add a quick one about bridges. Its easier to just be an engineer and drive up to the bridge in your newly polished tank.

Wait for the enemy to laugh and point at the broken bridge, then just fire off a shell and keep driving. The bridge repairs normally at the point that you're about to fall over the edge which makes a lot of people generally start running off fairly quickly.
