I'm really dissapointed with the nation choices in BF2. It's fine and dandy to play with the Chinese and MEC, but the Americans are so much more powerful when it comes to overall weaponry that it makes the game not that much fun.

I'd like to see special forces from different nations, and make them hard to obtain. It appears now that the medals and ribbons are just decoration for your account. I'd like to see classes and SF division (Like Ranger and Delta, Navy Seal, etc.) that you need to qualify in order to play as. Perhaps you would have to blow up radar and artillery without being killed to obtain an expert qualification in demolitions which would open up SF. Playing as SF you would need to qualify for airborne and demolitions etc. to become Delta.

As it is now, no class is special because anyone can be any class. It looks like pretty soon we will all be Sergeants because I can't imagine how anyone will ever get to the rank of general, you'd have to play 10-12 hours a day for months at a time just to make lieutenant.
