Hey nice find yetix!

Some of these guys asking the questions tho:

and Why did you just not adapt the way helicopters work in DC (which is perfect) rather than programming the controls all over?

Thought this was a pretty good one

Does the new game use the same game-engine as BF1942? A modification of BF 1942 named desertcombat seems to focus on air combat. Will we see more planes in BF vietnam?

The BFV engine started life as the BF42 engine. We replaced the graphics engine with a state of the art one and then began rewriting portions of the main engine. So, although there are similaritites, the BFV engine is a hybrid. It isn't completely new, but it isn't the same either.

BFV has a different focus on each map. Some maps are air focused, while others are infantry focused. There is a very wide range.

Pretty cool, Answers some questions.

And this of course is what I was looking for:

I would like to know if todays mods (like DesertCombat) for Battlefield 1942, can be easily "converted" to the BF:Vietnam engine, or must they be made all over again? Thanks for you time.

They can be converted with a little time and effort. The new system will allow the modders more features to play with as well. From a user standpoint, the mods won't be usable until they've been converted.
Just got word from the homefront leader, talked to rex, said that models will not need conversion. Thats pretty cool.
