Some of you folks here remember when I first released this map over a year ago. Now, after a month of redevelopment time, it's back and 10 times better then ever!!!!
After some last minute reflection, I decided to put aside my difficulties with lightmapping my custom static objects and have gone ahead and released LD: Omaha Day 1. The map is an update of the first map I released over a year ago and shows how vastly the tools we have to map with have increased, as well as our own knowledge about making a map more playable. Any change to the lightmap situation will be fixed via a small update, along with any possible bug fixes that might be discovered.
LD: Omaha Day 1 sports accurate terrain from the western end of Omaha beach, sight of the June 6th, 1944, D-Day landings and the allied invasion of Europe. The map contains coastal artillery as well as pak40's for the German defense, countered by two allied destroyers and twin Sherman tanks delivered to the beach via LCT (a custom static model... the map will be modded for the BG42 Mod and will be fully functional as a vehicle at that point, so keep your eyes out for that). Full 'bot support has been implemented, and they do a pretty decent job of fighting it out, actually. No two battles I've played yet have gone the same way with the 'bots.
