I can only speak for our server, but vehicle theft is just fine with us! You can steal whatever you want, and if people get in your way, off 'em!
The only thing we watch for is that you steal the vehicle and go USE IT- NOT just grab it, sit there, and camp the main base. We had at least one person last night (who also posts here
) who was taking that pussy approach- steal a tiger, and just sit in the main base, killing people as they spawn.
The BFN server exists for FUN games... our only real rules are no TKing (duh), and no camping until your team has all the flags.
It amazes me how many people I've seen spout on about their great skills... then I see them play, and all they can manage is camping. Sad.
Jstark the admin who kicked you was probably some jackass who didn't want to lose the match. So he'd just kick anyone who attempts anything creative.
We've played a couple really impressive clans in some matches... and I found it interesting that in almost every case, they completely did not camp. The best example was AFF, and incredibly skilled group. We played them on Market Garden... and they had us completely pinned down on the axis side. They could have easily moved across the bridges and spawn camped us to hell. And camping is not against the ladder rules, so no one would have been able to complain.
Did they?
No. They held the bridges and stuck to their strategy. That was one of the aspects that really impressed me about AFF- they beat us using pure skill, not weak ass methods.
Now that's something that really impresses me... players with skill who don't need to rely on cheap tactics to win.
