I didnt think you would have to necessarily. Windows generally uses their own drivers for cpu and to a lesser extent - mobo. When was the last time your cpu came with a cd for drivers? Motherboards do but they aren't really necessary with windows XP since it can use its own.
When i reformatted my computer a couple weeks ago i went to the VIA website to download the latest drivers, installed them, !really! screwed up my computer. So i rolled back and stayed with the ones windows installed automatically and have been runnin fine.
So basically what im saying is: if your only upgrading the mobo and cpu you probably wont have to reformat. The upgrading problems usually come with sound cards, video cards, or other pci/agp cards. BTW i was the guest that made the 3rd post i keep forgetting to log in and i dont accept cookies.
