I checked the DX Diag tools and the hardware acceleration was on. I toggled it off and back on, no dice.

I've found that the only way I can work around this problem is make sure there's nothing running in the task list and the hard drive is 100% defragged. I then have to load the game and get to the servers screen (Multiplay/Internet), then do an ALT TAB, launch either Team Speak or TW, then ALT TAB back to the game. This has been working as of late....
