wow, long.
i use the keyboard and its fine. i have no idea what the buttons actually control on the helicopter, but i know the effects. i'll add my bit:
W - throttle up, moves in the direction your chopper blade "face" is pointing.
S - kills throttle
A - turns left (sharp)
D - turns right (sharp)
arrows:
up: tilts chopper forward (front down)
down: tilts chopper up (front up)
left: tilts chopper LEFT! =p
right: tilts chopper right.
space fires the regular (whatever those are) missiles, 0 on keypad fires hellfire (?) explosive missiles.
i dont get why people insist on learning hovering first. i mean, it IS useful to capture bases and attack, but i would think that getting around is better. besides, it seems to me that hovering is just pressing the throttle fast enough so that you dont fall. fall, throttle, fall, throttle, boing boing boing =) i think its something youre gonna learn on your own.
i think when i learned, i held the throttle to take off and dipped forward a little bit. then i was flying forward! then you just press left and right turn to make the sharp turns. then i learned that once you tap a button, you have to tap the opposite button to stop doing the first thing. if you tap right, you keep going right till you tap left.
just realize that wherever your blades are pointing, you are going to go that way.
the left/right arrow keys i dont use as much.
well, thats my two cents.
